I am a captioner. For the TV. Subtitles, more or less. I’m transcribing a poetry reading and there are stupid things about it, I guess. But once you know what a captioner is, you more or less can tell why it might be weird to caption poems.
Captioning poetry at work. This is the worst. Because I like poetry. And our style guide thinks it’s the 16th century.
